About Rick:

Rick has been playing the Great Highland Bagpipe since 1966, when he switched from clarinet while playing in the Citadel Regimental Band in Charleston, SC. He bought his first set of pipes before he joined the USAF in 1971. He played his pipes off and on as time, travel, and work permitted. He joined the Celtic Connection Pipes and Drums of Marietta, GA in 1990 and played regularly in parades, private events, and mass band (500+) at the Stone Mountain Highland Games. While on a work assignment to Warner Robbins AB, GA, Rick also played with the Centerville Fire Department Pipes and Drums. Upon returning to Marietta, GA, Rick resumed playing with the Celtic Connection Pipes and Drums until mid 2000 when a rotator cuff injury suspended his piping. During this time the Celtic Connection Pipes and Drums disbanded. Rick resumed playing as time and work permitted with the Chattahoochee Pipes and Drums. Rick has performed at many wedding, parties, funerals, parades, and is available for any solo event or with additional pipes and drums.
